  • What is United ACA Solutions About?

Here at United ACA Solutions, we charted out the optimal client experience for compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. On the day President Obama signed PPACA into law, we went to work. The law is over 900 pages long and we studied every word. Ultimately, we determined that the employer shared responsibility provisions of the law were an area that we could add value to our clients. At the time, our core business was applying government rules to employers’ data in relation to Retirement Plans under Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). It became clear to us that we could help our clients comply with the Affordable Care Act. Within a few years, the IRS issued regulations which are now the basis of the compliance effort.

Our sole focus now is in serving our Client’s ACA compliance and reporting needs. Our goal for ACA compliance, as it was in ERISA compliance, is founded on a few principles.

The first is service – anticipating what our clients want and when they want it.

Second, is that we are the experts – our clients shouldn’t have to know anything about the rules to be successful. We know you don’t want to be an expert – in the rules or in a piece of software, you want it handled – FULL STOP.

Third, is that although compliance requires applying the ACA rules to data, our clients shouldn’t have to do it – i.e. we do not offer a DIY ‘software service’. If we start from the position that our clients don’t need to be an experts in the regulations, how could we turn around and expect them to become an expert in our software? These paradigms are fundamentally incompatible.

It all comes down to the human touch. You don’t need to worry that a system has silently produced a bad result because of incorrect application of rules or automation failure - your data is handed off to a human, and a human is checking and validating your 1095 forms, and if you want any additional detail or questions answered, a human expert will be on hand to help you. To be extra clear - human service and expertise is not an additional premium, because it is our standard procedure. With United’s Complete Service plan, the only thing you’ll need to know about the Affordable Care Act is that it is handled.
